HSC Covid-19 FAQ

We understand there may still be some questions regarding our upcoming summer season, the Board has developed a members FAQ for you to review. CLICK HERE

Hillside Kids…You Name Our Mascot

As a former Interclub swimmer, Coach Pete understands that summer swim is all about F-U-N! So, he wants to start with a fun project for all Hillside kids (18 or under). From now until April 24th, each Hillside kid gets one vote to pick our new mascot. Parents, see and/or print the attached form and help the little ones by e-mailing their favorite choice! Once the masses have spoken, a new Hillside mascot logo will also be created. Being this is an election year for the adults, this could be a great learning opportunity & it’s about time that the kids vote counts! Knowing we all have some time at home together, we hope to hear from every member under 18 to help shape Hillside’s future! DOWNLOAD FORM HERE

Big Swim & Dive Team News!

The Hillside Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the return of Pete DeNoble as our new Head Swim & Dive Team Coach. Pete’s been a stalwart in Interclub Swim since 1989 where he developed a true passion for the sport. After a standout swimming & diving career at Monsignor Farrell, he became a scholarship athlete at Seton Hall University and for the next five summers was on the coaching staff at Hillside! After various summer coaching stints in New Jersey and Interclub, he moved up to the Collegiate level at St. Peter’s & Morrisville State College. Most recently, he returned to his alma mater at Seton Hall where he was named 2015 Big East Coach of the Year! He is currently coaching High School swim in NJ and owns Hopper Aquatics, but with all his experience & knowledge, he still speaks with pride about receiving the Toshi Dowd Memorial Award in his senior year of Interclub, for personifying the ideals of good sportsmanship and leadership. It’s these ideals that lead us to believe he is the perfect fit and we are excited for Pete’s return to Hillside! Click the link to hear directly from our new Head Coach, Pete DeNoble… Meet Pete

Dear Hillside members,

One of the greatest things about our club is how much we value family – our own, each other’s, and the collective Hillside family we have created together.

We are now all functioning in very unprecedented ways; from schooling to working arrangements to caring for the most vulnerable and older members of our family. We are all just trying to figure out life, day by day.

Please be assured that the HSC Board is doing the same, just trying to figure out life, day by day. We are continuing with our plans to get ready for the next season at the club, but at the same time being mindful that these are unprecedented times and all we can do right now is prepare, monitor, adapt, and most importantly, take care of our family and our friends.

As managers of a pool club we are certainly monitoring any directives from the NYC Department of Health so we are prepared to operate in compliance, ensuring another safe and enjoyable season.

As a family we take care of each other so we ask you to please order take out at local restaurants and support small businesses as much as you can. The businesses being affected are not only our neighbors but many are members of our own Hillside family.

Let’s also look out for each other. If you learn of a member faced with a circumstance resulting from this virus, reach out to us. Maybe we can help in some way.

Lastly, and most importantly, please keep all the members of our club who are on the front lines these days, health care workers and first responders, in your thoughts and prayers. We may need to buy them all a drink this summer on the patio to show them how thankful and proud we are of them!

Stay safe!
